These Periscope models are hand picked by Paul live on Periscope. There is a clip on youtube of this showing the full process. The live audience vote and pick from a selection of top, fretboard wood, necks etc. Only a few of these were made and are all 1 offs.
This 2016 example, Private Stock #6402, is a Periscope #6 McCarty 594 finished in stunning Teal Midnight. The finish gives the guitar a beautiful depth and character, showcasing the attention to detail that goes into every Private Stock instrument.
The McCarty 594 design takes inspiration from classic vintage single-cut guitars, combining traditional appointments with the precision and playability PRS is renowned for. Its 24.594" scale length gives it a familiar, comfortable feel, while the carefully designed neck profile and beautifully finished fingerboard make it an absolute pleasure to play.
Tonally, the McCarty 594 offers a wonderfully versatile voice. Its dual humbuckers deliver everything from warm, rounded vintage-style cleans to rich, harmonically complex overdriven tones. The individual volume and tone controls, along with push/pull coil-splitting, provide plenty of flexibility, allowing you to move between full humbucker sounds and brighter, more articulate single-coil-style tones.
As a Private Stock instrument, this is far more than a standard production PRS. With its individual Private Stock identity, exceptional build quality and striking Teal Midnight finish, it's a guitar for the serious collector and player alike.
