The Guitar
This is a 2015 Yamaha Revstar RS720B Electric Guitar, finished in the stunning Wall Fade.
The Revstar series marked a fresh chapter for Yamaha, combining Japanese design inspiration with a distinctive vintage aesthetic and modern performance features. Drawing inspiration from custom motorcycles and the café racer scene, the RS720B has a character all of its own, with its beautifully figured maple top, understated satin finish and classic Bigsby-equipped design.
The mahogany body and flamed maple top deliver a warm, resonant tone with plenty of midrange punch and clarity. The mahogany set neck and rosewood fingerboard provide a comfortable, substantial playing feel, while the 24.75" scale length makes the guitar feel familiar and relaxed under the fingers.
The RS720B is fitted with a pair of Yamaha VT5+ Alnico humbuckers, designed with a Filter'Tron-style voice. These pickups offer a wonderfully articulate, open sound with plenty of sparkle and bite, making them ideal for everything from clean, jangly rhythm playing to gritty blues, indie and classic rock tones.
A licensed Bigsby B-50 vibrato adds expressive pitch movement and vintage character, paired with a Tune-o-matic-style bridge for reliable intonation. The push-pull Dry Switch provides additional tonal versatility by filtering low frequencies for a brighter, more focused sound without the need for traditional coil splitting.
Finished in Wall Fade, the RS720B has a distinctive industrial look, with its hand-brushed satin top, contrasting pickguard and satin nickel hardware. A fantastic alternative to the usual single-cut electric guitars, offering bags of character, excellent versatility and unmistakable Yamaha build quality.
