The Guitar
The Ibanez RG421EXFM is a great example of the classic RG formula: fast, comfortable playability, sleek styling and plenty of versatility, all in a straightforward hardtail configuration.
Finished in Transparent Red, the flamed maple top gives this guitar a striking look, with the figuring showing through the rich red finish. The familiar RG body shape is designed for comfort and easy access across the fretboard, while the slim Wizard-style neck offers the quick, effortless feel that Ibanez guitars are known for.
This example features the Ibanez V7 and V8 humbuckers, a well-established pickup pairing found on a number of RG models. The V7 in the neck position offers a warm, full sound for smooth leads and rounded cleans, while the V8 bridge pickup delivers plenty of punch and output for heavier riffs and driven tones. Combined with the five-way switching, there's a useful range of sounds available, making this a versatile guitar for everything from clean playing to high-gain rock and metal.
The fixed hardtail bridge keeps things simple, offering reliable tuning stability and straightforward string changes without the complications of a locking tremolo system.
A great-looking RG with classic Ibanez playability, a versatile pickup combination and a finish that really catches the eye.
