The Guitar
Here's a lovely 1997-99 USA-made Fender Stratocaster finished in the ever-popular Daphne Blue. Combining the unmistakable Stratocaster styling with its classic three single-coil pickup configuration, this is a guitar that delivers all the familiar Fender tones and versatility.
The Daphne Blue finish gives this Strat a fantastic vintage-inspired look, beautifully paired with the maple fingerboard. The traditional SSS layout offers everything from sparkling cleans and crisp, glassy in-between sounds to warm blues tones and punchy rock rhythm sounds. With the five-way pickup selector, there's a huge range of tonal possibilities available.
One particularly interesting feature of this guitar is the neck has been scalloped. Scalloping removes wood from between the frets, allowing the player's fingers to make less contact with the fingerboard itself. This gives a distinctive playing feel, particularly suited to expressive bends, vibrato and fast lead work. It's a modification often associated with players who favour a lighter touch and a more expressive approach to the instrument.
This was not done by Fender in the factory. It was a regular Fender USA neck and luthier has scalloped it at the previous owners request.
A distinctive USA Fender Stratocaster with a striking colour combination and a specialist modification that sets it apart from a standard example.
